The “First Aid for Mixed ages Groups” course is a course that covers the wide range of ages and issues that happen in a mixed Group environment.
Are you part of a Group or Organisation catering to a wide range of ages and activities? Say a Church, a Private Member Activity Club, or you organise family-orientated events.
You have a duty of care over anyone that visits, from volunteers to children and parents, teens and adults, possibly elderly ones.
Which course to choose?
The main courses that you can choose for a typical Group are:
Emergency First Aid at Work, which covers the Workplace requirements, but doesn’t deal with looking after children
Emergency Paediatric First Aid which deals with children and infants (infant First Aid requirements are not usually
Neither course is ideal and, in addition these 1-day courses don’t always cover the sorts of injuries or medical conditions that may actually happen in real life.
4 Minutes Training has created a “First Aid for Groups” course that takes the best of these two syllabuses and also adds in more likely topics that you might have to deal with. This course is only run as a Private Group Booking of up to 12 people.
We have a suggested syllabus, below but are happy to tailor the contents to your specific requirements. For instance, if your activities are predominantly outdoors in all weathers we could cover hypothermia / heat exhaustion and shelter.
What’s in the course?
The First 3-hours are our Basic Life Support Syllabus, which is a useful Workplace qualification for Businesses that don’t need a fully qualified First Aider (get in touch if this is what you need). Any Business that just needs an Appointed Person would benefit from this qualification.
The second 3 hours covers a broad range of topics that, in our opinion, are likely to occur, but do chat with us if there is anything specific that you want covered. See the suggested syllabus, below.
We keep it practical, so there is plenty of time to practice the skills and to ask questions.
